Purity: Pure gold, or 24kt gold, is too soft to withstand everyday stresses.  Gold is alloyed with a mixture of metals, primarily silver, copper, and zinc which gives the gold strength and durability. How much of the metal in a piece of jewelry that is gold will be noted by a number followed by a “k”.  The most popular gold recommended for jewelry is “14 karat” gold. This states that 58.3% of the metal is gold.

Gold Facts You Should Know:

  • 24K gold is pure gold.
  • 18K gold contains 18 parts gold and 6 parts of another metal (s), making it 75% gold.
  • 14K gold contains 14 parts gold and 10 parts of another metal(s) making it 58.3% gold.
  • 12K gold contains 12 parts gold and 12 parts of another metal(s) making it 50% gold.
  • 10K gold contains 10 parts gold and 14 parts of another metal(s) making it 41.7% gold.

Care: Gold will not tarnish, rust, or corrode and though it is very strong it is also the most malleable of metals. To avoid daily abrasions and prolong the luster keep your gold jewelry away from harsh chemicals and cleaning fluids.

Store: To protect your jewelry from the daily elements store gold pieces separately in soft bags or the original box.

SEMI PRECIOUS GEMSTONES

The beautiful color of our gemstones is one of the most defining characteristic of each stone. All gemstones are hand cut.  Our gemstones are genuine and have not been heat treated or enhanced.

Carat weight of a gemstone does not accurately describe the size of the gemstone as different gemstones have different densities. For example a 1 carat diamond will look larger than a 1 carat ruby due to the higher density of the ruby stone.

  • A unit of mass and is exactly 200 milligrams
  • One carat is divided into 100 points
  • Stones that weigh less than 1 carat are usually described as having so many points. Ex; .65 carats is 65 points.

1). Amethyst

Amethyst gemstone is a member of the quartz family. The color of an amethyst will range from violet to pale red-violet.
Amethyst has been known to symbolize peace and tranquility to those who wear them.

Our pearls are both fresh water and cultured and you will find this noted in the product information.  Fresh water pearls range in size from 3 to 7mm and come from fresh water mussels. Cultured pearls are created by inserting a tiny bead into an oyster. Over time the oyster coats the bead in many layers of natural minerals and proteins called nacre.
Pearls are known for purity and femininity.

Peridot is one of the oldest and most popular gemstone. The gems are greenish yellow in color and as well as a beautiful vibrant green.
Peridot has been known to prevent fear and sadness.

9). White Topaz

White Topaz is a brilliant stone that occurs natually and contains up to 20% of flourine or water. It has a fine color range and it’s attractive, high luster qualities make it a highly sought after as a gem stone.

Care: After removing your gemstone jewelry, wipe it with a clean cloth to remove dirt and other residues.  You may also soak your gemstones in warm soapy water and use a soft brush like a toothbrush and gently brush to get rid of any dust or residue. Rinse thoroughly and be careful not to scratch the metal of your setting when brushing.

  • Home ultrasonic cleaners are not recommended for all your gemstones.
  • Some precious stones should not be exposed to sudden temperature changes.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive cleaners.
  • Avoid hair spray or perfumes.

Store: Store your gemstone jewelry in a lined case or a soft cloth bag or box. Do not let gems touch each other or parts of other jewelry. Gemstones are harder than gold and can scratch surfaces of your other jewelry if not separated.

Your jewelry should be the last thing that you put on in the morning and the first thing you take off a night.
